Directions
Recoating:
For wooden floors that have been previously finished, clean away water-soluble soil by damp mopping or wet scrubbing and allow to dry. Do not allow water to penetrate into wood floors. Care must be taken not to warp floor.
- For best inter-coat adhesion, abrade floor to remove black marks. Apply a waterless cleaner onto floor with wet mop 3-5 minutes ahead of scrubbing, using the rotary floor machine with 120, 150 or 180 grit screens depending on condition of floor. Move machine at the pace of a slow walk in full head passes overlapping 1-2 inches.
- Tack rag with waterless cleaner to remove dust particles. To increase efficiency of tack rag process, use an E-Z WayTM applicator to continuously feed cleaner to tack rag. Allow floor to thoroughly dry.
- Eliminate direct air drafts during application. Apply with EZ-WayTM , or T-Bar at 500 sq ft/gal. Increase airflow when floor is tack free (usually 4-5 hrs).
- Keep traffic off for 48 hours. Light traffic until 7 days, normal traffic after that. Coating reaches 80% cure in 7 days, full cure in 30 days. No mats or gym covers for 30 days.
Freshly Sanded Floors:
- Sand floors according to MFMA procedures. Any existing finish on floor must be removed to ensure proper adhesion.
- Sweep and vacuum to remove all dust and loose particles on the floor.
- Eliminate direct air drafts during application. Apply sealer with E-Z Way or T-bar at 500 sq ft/gal. Allow overnight dry before application of next coat and abrade between coats with 150-180 grit screens (3M SPPs with 180 grit disks may also be used if top coating within 36 hours.) Increase airflow when floor is tack free (usually 4-6 hours).
- After game lines have been applied and abraded, apply finish using the same procedures listed above.
- Keep traffic off floor for 48 hours. Light traffic until 7 days, normal traffic after that. Coating reaches 80% cure in 7 days, full cure in 30 days. No mats or gym covers for 30 days.
