General Directions**

For maximum user safety and proper drying, always provide adequate exhaust while using this product.

New Floors or Newly Sanded Floors:

  1. Pick-up all dust and debris with vacuum. Follow with tack rag treated with Waterless Cleaner (#1130) to pick up all remaining dust.
  2. Apply finish with lambs' wool applicator, weighted T-bar or E-Z Way Applicator. Avoid puddling finish on floor. Spread at a coverage rate of 500 square feet per gallon.
  3. Allow floor to dry for 8 to 12 hours under normal conditions (24 hours max.). DO NOT recoat if finish is tacky.
  4. Abrade finish with a #2 steel wool pad.
  5. Tack with a rag treated with Waterless Cleaner.
  6. Apply game lines. Allow game paint to dry to heavy touch. Lightly abrade game lines according to paint manufacturer's directions, then tack as indicated above.
  7. Apply second coat of High Solids Gym Finish in the same manner as the first. DO NOT recoat if finish is tacky. Allow to dry for 8-12 hours (24 hours max.), then abrade with a #2 steel wool pad, and tack as indicated above.
  8. Apply third coat of finish. Allow 72 hours before opening floor to light foot traffic and 7 days before opening to normal athletic activities or heavy traffic.

Recoating Existing Finish:

  1. Remove all tape, labels and gum from floor.
  2. Dust mop floor.
  3. Abrade floor using 120 grit screens (wet method can be used, if desired).
  4. If using wet method, make sure floor is thoroughly rinsed and completely dry before proceeding.
  5. Tack rag floor with lint-free towels and Waterless Cleaner.
  6. Apply finish as indicated in step 2 under New Floors or Newly Sanded Floors.
  7. If two coats are desired, abrade with #2 steel wool and tack rag with lint-free towels and Waterless Cleaner. DO NOT recoat if first coat is still tacky.
  8. Allow 72 hours before opening floor to light foot traffic and 7 days before opening to normal athletic activities or heavy traffic.

Important Application Notes

  1. Apply at 500 square feet per gallon.
  2. Do not puddle finish.
  3. Dry times will vary greatly based on drying conditions and ventilation.
  4. Do not apply finish when temperature is above 95°F or below 65°F, or when humidity is above 80%. For best results, apply finish at room temperature.
  5. Do not apply a second coat if the first coat is still tacky.
  6. Allow 72 hours before opening floor to light foot traffic and 7 days before opening to nomal athletic activities or heavy traffic.
