Step
1:
Be sure to shake or pull any loose fibers from
E-Z Way K200™ Applicator pad (refer to applicator instructions
for complete usage details).
Note: High Solids Gym Finish (#234)
or 40% Gym Finish (#293) can be applied with
other applicators such as a weighted T-bar or standard block applicator.
Step
2:
Clamp lambswool pad onto the applicator head.
Step
3:
Run feeder tube over the handle and connect to
T-fitting.
Step
4:
Fill applicator with High Solids Gym Finish (#234)
or 40% Gym Finish (#293). Coverage is about 500 square feet per gallon.
Be sure to use the mesh filter supplied with the E-Z Way™ Applicator.
It is a good idea to fill near your starting point so any spills can
be feathered into floor.
Note: Refer to product label and MSDS for complete directions
and safety information.
Step
5:
Open valve to fill applicator pad with finish.
Step
6:
Start in corner of floor and make a 15 to 20-foot
pass down to the end wall, turn and pull applicator back toward corner.
Step
7:
Then,
make your first pass down length of gym to opposite corner. Turn 90
degrees and make a 15 to 20-ft. pass down the other end wall. This is
done so all turns are made in the wet edges.
Step
8:
Now,
overlap 4 to 6 inches (use wing nut as guide) during each full-length
pass. Be sure to run a 1 to 1½-inch puddle in front of the applicator
and angle the applicator (about 10 degrees) so finish runs off to the
unfinished side of the floor.
Step
9:
Move at a slow walk and be sure to close the valve
as you approach the wall. With practice and adjustment to your walking
speed, you will be able to have the flow control valve completely open
while maintaining a 1 to 1½-inch puddle.
Step
10:
Use caution on turns to eliminate puddles and
missed areas.
Step
11:
As the tank empties, the flow will slow. You will
then need to slow your walking pace down to compensate for the reduced
flow.
Note: To ensure uniform application, do not allow E-Z Way
reservoir to fall below half-full mark.
Step
12:
To refill the applicator, move it to an unfinished
area. A slight amount of finish will flow from the applicator and should
not come in contact with a previously finished area.
Note: If a second coat is needed, it should be applied between
12 and 24 hours after the first coat. If more than 24 hours lapse, the
floor should be lightly abraded. Be sure floor is clean and tack-free
prior to recoating.
Step
13:
When floor is completely finished, place the applicator
inside a plastic trash can liner and move to clean up area (usually
outdoors).
Step
14:
Drain any finish from the applicator tank back
into the original finish container.
Step
15:
Remove lambswool head. Pour a ½-gallon
of Waterless Cleaner (#1130) into tank. Shake
well to rinse tank and flush through tubes.
Step
16:
Repeat
rinsing procedures with Waterless Cleaner and wipe off outside of applicator
with a cloth dampened with waterless cleaner.
Note: Allow floor to dry overnight. Ventilate the gym for
30 minutes the following day. Then, lock gymnasium for two more days
before allowing traffic on floor.
