Canine Parvovirus Claim

Canine Parvovirus (CPV) is a relatively new disease that started appearing in the United States around 1978. The virus is so strong that it attacks the animal’s intestines – causing sloughing of the inner layers. The majority of dogs presented with CPV show signs of vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite and diarrhea.

Unlike most viruses, CPV can remain viable in the environment for up to six months and there is little an owner can do to completely eradicate it. It is resistant to heat, detergents, alcohol and many disinfectants. Given its aggressive nature and symptom severity, it is understandable that animal shelters, veterinarians, boarding kennels and other dog handlers would want a safe, easy-to-use disinfectant to fight CPV.

Essential Industries is pleased to announce that Neutral Germicidal Cleaner (#702) not only kills HIV, HBV and HCV viruses, but now effectively controls Canine Parvovirus (CPV) on hard, non-porous environmental surfaces. When used at a 1:32 dilution (1:128 is standard dilution), Neutral Germicidal Cleaner has been found effective against this highly contagious virus.
