Quick Test for Dryness

Refinishing floors during hotter, more humid weather can lead to a whole host of problems. These problems can be greatly minimized by waiting for floor finish to completely dry before applying a fresh coat.

How do you know when finish is dry enough to recoat? A simple test can help. Place a clean tissue on the finish once it appears dry. Now step on the tissue and twist your foot. If the tissue tears, it is picking up moisture in the finish and it is NOT dry. If it slides without tearing, it is dry and can be safely recoated.
