What are the different
floor care systems Essential Industries offers?
Essential markets a daily
high speed program, a weekly high speed program, various low maintenance
floor care programs, and an environmentally-responsible program called
Green Essence.
What are the benefits of each system?
For the ultimate look with
the longest possible strip cycle, a daily high speed program is best.
For a program that still offers good looking floors with reduced labor,
a weekly high speed system is recommended. And, for those areas that
you only want to sweep and wet-scrub infrequently, a low maintenance
system is preferrable.
How do I know what floor care system is best for
my facility?
Generally, you need to look
at the following: appearance expectation, square footage, labor availability,
equipment availability and facility down-time. If you have a large area
with an auto-scrubber and burnisher available, a high speed program
may be perfect. If you do not have the proper equipment and want your
floors looking good, then our low maintenance program would be most
appropriate.
If I change to a new system that entails using
a new Essential floor finish, should I strip the floor?
For best results, we recommend
stripping the floor and starting from the ground up. This removes all
deeply embedded soil and provides the best possible appearance. However,
most Essential floor finishes can be applied on top of competitive products.
All that you need to do is aggressively deep scrub the floor with Citrus
Scrub 'N Shine (#525) and a blue pad and recoat with any Essential
floor finish.
Are different products, such as brand X cleaner, compatible with Essential's
floor finishes?
Essential's floor maintenance
system is designed to work as just that - a system. Our cleaners and
restorers work best with our floor finishes. Some competitive "neutral
cleaners" are very aggressive and can cause heavy soil penetration
and marking. The other concern is slips and falls. All Essential floor
care products are UL Classified as to slip resistance. By sticking to
our complete system, you eliminate unknown product variables and strengthen
your position in case of legal action as the result of a slip and fall.
What is the best way to clean and beautify rubber-studded
flooring?
Rubber-studded floor can be
a challenge to maintain since finishing this floor is not advisable.
There are two methods Essential has developed that will work to clean
rubber-studded floors.
Method
1:
Sweep the floor, then wet mop with Nu-Tral
Cleaner (#507). Dilute 4 ounces of Citrus
Scrub 'N Shine (#525) into a quart bottle (1:8). Attach a soft,
mixed bristle brush to a low speed single disk machine. Spray buff the
floor as you would a resilient tile floor.
Method
2:
Sweep the floor, then wet mop with Nu-Tral
Cleaner (#507). Attach a Glit Contour scrub pad to a low speed single
disk machine. Apply a 3-inch "rope" of Gelcon
(#207) to the floor. Set the buffer on top of the Gelcon and clean
approximately 200 sq. ft. Repeat this procedure in 200 sq. ft. increments
until the entire floor is clean.
