Definitions
of Criteria
- Indicates
that the ingredients used in these products are biodegradable in the
environment as well as in wastewater sewage treatment plants according
to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals.
- Made with ingredients from renewable plant and animal sources. High biobased content equals 51%-90% per the Biobased Manufacturers Association.
- Contains
<0.50% Phosphorous per Green Seal (GS-37) requirements and New
York Environmental Conservation Law (Article 35, Title 6, Section
659.3).
- Meets
OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and meets/is exempt from DOT Hazardous
Material Regulations (49 CFR 173.136).
- Meets
the requirements put forth by the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals as outlined
by Green Seal (GS-37).

Green
Seal Performance Requirements
General
Purpose Cleaners
The product shall remove at least 80% of the particulate soil in the
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D4488-95, A5.
Bathroom
Cleaners
The product shall remove at least 75% of the soil in ASTM D5343 as measured
by ASTM D5343.
Glass
Cleaners
The product shall achieve at least a rating of three (on a 1-4 scale)
in each of the following Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Association
(CSMA) DCC 09 categories: soil removal, smearing and streaking.
